Landscape Science/Engineering — Ponds, Wetlands & Streams

Projects involving water bodies, wetlands or buffering uplands require not only expertise in hydrogeology and wetland ecology, they also require an understanding of the Wetlands Protection Act and the ability to interact favorably with Conservation Commissions and other regulatory bodies. P&S has designed and overseen construction or reconstruction of numerous ponds, streams and wetlands as well as projects in the bordering uplands.

Profile Project
Ocean Spray World Headquarters
Location: Lakeville, MA
Services: Geotechnical and Drainage Analysis for Pond Restoration
The proposed site of the new headquarters for the Ocean Spray Corporation was located adjacent to a 37 acre pond created by the damming of a stream which passed through a meadow area. The pond was in the latter stages of eutrophication. P&S designed and carried out permitting for a dredging program to reclaim the pond while protecting and enhancing wetland values. Dredge spoils were reconditioned to create loam.
